Bella

2006 · Alejandro Gomez Monteverde · Drama

Recommended. Age: 13+. A Catholic review of this movie for parents.

Our review

Bella makes the case for life by showing a man who stays. Jose never lectures Nina. He feeds her, listens, brings her to his family, and offers to raise the child himself. That is what mercy looks like. The reservation is content: a little girl's death is shown, and abortion is discussed frankly, so this is for teens up.

For parents

For teens and adults, and a strong choice for a pro-life discussion. Preview the accident flashback. Ask: what did Jose do for Nina that an argument could not? What did his family give her? How did Jose's own guilt turn into a gift for someone else?
