Best of the Best

2026 · Lena Khan · College dance comedy

Caution. Age: 16+. A Catholic review of this movie for parents.

Our review

Underneath the jokes is a decent story about two friends who hurt each other and find their way back, and a team that learns to pull together. The trouble is the world the film treats as normal: f-words throughout, regular drinking with some of it underage, a 'blackout' party, and a freshman who packs condoms, the Pill and Plan B though she is not sexually active.

For parents

For older teens, about 16 and up, and best watched with a parent. Common Sense Media says 14 and up. If your teen is headed to college, use it. Ask: what did Maya and Anjali have to give up to forgive each other? Why does a girl pack Plan B before college, and what does the Church say about it and about drinking?
