Our review

Albus and Scorpius steal a Time-Turner to save Cedric, and every fix makes the world worse. The fathers and sons who wound each other and then ask forgiveness are the good part. Catholic Stand called the play's heart despair: Cedric's death is treated as necessary, and the heroes let Harry's parents die to protect the timeline. The two boys' bond carries a romantic ambiguity the stage version later made explicit.

For parents

Teens who know the whole series, with a parent who has read this too. Ask what Providence means: God permits evil, but no death is 'necessary' for good (CCC 311-312). Ask why Harry's apology to Albus matters more than any spell. Say plainly that real witchcraft is a sin against the first commandment (CCC 2117).
