My Brother the Minotaur
Acceptable with guidance. Age: 8+. A Catholic review of this show for parents.
Our review
A warm, well-made fantasy about belonging, with two adoptive brothers who love each other and talk openly. Kindness, bravery and doing right run through it, and the peril never turns cruel. The reservation is the supernatural furniture: Celtic fairies, prophecies, a portal to the 'Other Side' and charms. It plays as story-world magic, but young children need a parent to sort it out.
For parents
Good for kids about 8 and up, matching Common Sense Media. Monsters like the Pooka may scare younger ones. Explain that charms and prophecies are make-believe, and that we trust God, not lucky charms. Ask: how does Charlie show he is a real brother? What makes someone part of a family?
