Newsies
Acceptable with guidance. Age: 8+. A Catholic review of this movie for parents.
Our review
A cheerful musical about poor boys who stand together for fair treatment, which echoes the Church's care for workers and the young. It never mentions God, glosses over lying and underage smoking and drinking, and paints every employer as a villain. Good for a family that talks back to the screen.
For parents
Age 8+, set by Common Sense Media; PG, no Catholic classification. Ask: when is a lie fair, even for a good cause? What do CCC 2434 and 2435 say about a fair wage and when a strike is right? What would a fair owner do?
