Our review
A warm animated fable about loving the one you were taught to fear. Ollie and Ivy learn that their peoples' hatred rests on misunderstanding. Ollie saves a creature that tried to kill him, and at the end he gives his life for others and comes back, which echoes Christ's death and Resurrection. The one reservation: predators, a wildfire and slain creatures may frighten small children.
For parents
Good for kids 8 and up and the rest of the family. Sensitive children may need a lap during the wolf and fire scenes. The magic is story-world magic, like a fairy tale. Ask: why did Ollie help the one who hurt him? Who gave His life for us and rose again?
