Our review
Toy Story is a small moral drama dressed as a toy chest. Woody sins out of envy, owns it, and works to make it right. Buzz has to accept the humbling truth about himself. Friendship, loyalty, and courage carry the day, and cruelty gets its comeuppance. The one reservation is Sid's bedroom: mutilated toys and a flaming match can rattle the youngest viewers.
For parents
Safe for the whole family; children under five may need a hand through Sid's house. Ask: why did Woody push Buzz out the window, and what did he do to fix it? Talk about envy as a sin against love (CCC 2539) and how Sid treats what belongs to him.
