Our review
A child's question turns a whole village toward one another. The children learn to see the old, the lonely and a disabled man they once avoided as friends, and the village thanks God for its men home safe from the sea. The one reservation is length. It is long and unhurried for a young reader.

Read aloud from 6, independent reading from 9. Nothing needs correcting. Ask who in the story was left out before the children came, and who is left out in our parish. Ask why the fishermen thank God for bringing them home safe.
